Block of Quotes
[edit]The large blocks of text cited to Dunaway under "History" (formerly under "History and Importance") seem unnecessarily long and make me uneasy about fair use. The first citation seems more interesting and does address demographics. I don't think the second one adds much. Anyone object if it's removed? Candle-ends (talk) 14:42, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- Go for it - in most cases it is better to paraphrase and give the reference anyways. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 15:18, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
I had a shot at paraphrasing the first one, though I would have liked to see the quote in context before trying to make it seem encyclopedic. I admit I have my doubts about the accuracy of the Dunaway source just from the title and two paragraphs presented in the article - it sounds biased towards the Scotch-Irish and was written some time ago in a manner not "dry" enough to suit me - but the article is already shy on sources. Fake seal
[edit]In a mass deletion request discussion on commons I stumbled over another seal and wonder which (if any) is correct. –Be..anyone (talk) 02:16, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

- Those are Townships, not Census Designated Places. Treating them as CDPs significantly undercounted their 2010 populations. This table is way off. 2600:4040:F108:9E00:FD52:205:4140:A372 (talk) 19:33, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
