Is it McDonald, or MacDonald?

[edit]

A number of Linux "history" books have him as Peter McDonald, as do a number of web pages dealing with the early history of Linux. Anyone know for sure which spelling is correct? Moorcito

It is Peter MacDonald, I have sent E-Mails to him and his Name when he replys shows up as "Peter MacDonald" -Tobin M

I can second that it is 'Peter MacDonald', I have worked with him for a few years. -Travis O — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.69.10.202 (talk) 17:19, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ELF migration incorrect

[edit]

I used SLS back in the day, and I'm rather certain that it never even attempted to migrate from a.out to ELF. It lost its user base because it was buggy (installer, toolchain, etc) and did not live up to its advertising (IIRC Windows compatibility as touted as a feature). I have therefore removed that particular point from the article. Of course, if my memory is playing tricks on me and SLS did actually go to ELF, feel free to revert my edit -- but please cite reference. -- Chris —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.230.48.50 (talk) 06:55, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I just commented out a link which does not exist anymore. I dug a little and found out the original German version of the document, at http://linuxkp.de/files/de/linuxology/rbhistory2.pdf - but I do non know if you allow references not in English, so I won't add it myself. --.mau. 18:53, 22 April 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by .mau.
