Hello I would like to perform some basic format and grammar edits on the 'Lanai' page including: inserting a hyperlink on the first mention of Walter M. Gibson changing 'In' to By' at the beginning of the subsequent paragraph Revloren (talk) 17:08, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just modified one external link on Lanai. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://archive.is/20120903221405/http://www.lanaichc.org/mahele-on-lanai/mahele-aina.htm to http://www.lanaichc.org/mahele-on-lanai/mahele-aina.htm
When you have finished reviewing my changes, you may follow the instructions on the template below to fix any issues with the URLs.

Larry Ellison
[edit]I've just completed some perhaps-controversial edits regarding Ellison's intentions with his holdings on the island. Despite the media blitz around his 'sustainable eco-lab' intentions, I can't find any sources since the time of his purchase to indicate anything at all has been done towards this goal aside from some hydroponic farms that were announced this year; and even that seems to be nothing more than a press release at this point. If someone is more informed and can provide sources for any efforts I missed, please do update. Walkersam (talk) 16:47, 28 December 2018 (UTC)

Inappropriate page move
[edit]This page appears to have been moved without any discussion occurring on the talk page. The USGS designation is Lānaʻi, the editor who moved the article cites WP:COMMONNAME and WP:ENGLISH. Well, as a part-time resident of Hawaiʻi, I can tell you that Lānaʻi is the common name in use on the Islands. The island is part of the County of Maui, but has its own Chamber of Commerce, the Lānaʻi Chamber of Commerce, which as you can see uses the correct spelling of the island's name. The inclusion of the ʻokina is common usage on the Islands, on street signs and Government buildings. The removal of the ʻokina is incorrect and is part of a pattern of indigenous suppression which it is inappropriate to continue on Wikipedia, especially at this time. The ʻokina is used throughout Wikipedia on articles related to the Hawaiʻian Islands, and it should not be removed from either the body or titles of articles. Skyerise (talk) 16:27, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
Note: I have restored the original name Lanai and protected the page. This should not be moved without a formal RM discussion and a clear consensus. -- MelanieN (talk) 18:03, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
