Seeking an SQA position where I can improve software quality by applying my fourteen years testing experience and interdepartmental communication skills. When measurable, I outperform other testers by 40%. I have a reputation for being able to locate the hardest to reproduce bugs.

Work Experience

Rivio, Inc., Santa Clara, CA 2000-present. Senior Quality Assurance Engineer. Performed black-box testing of two Web sites--one aimed at the needs of small businesses, and the other, CPAs. Created automated tests using SilkPerformer. Also found bugs via code review. Proofread help and content. Contributed significantly to the interface design. Fixed bugs using ASP, JavaScript, Visual Basic, and Microsoft Content Management Server. Wrote internal technical documentation. Built a test rack for the CPA-oriented site. Served as a back-up configuration management person.

QualityLogic, Inc., Redmond, WA 1997-2000. Software Tester. Tested in-flight software (for 737, Dash 8, etc.) in Win95 and NT environments writing test scripts in Cantata, an automated testing tool that uses a C-based script language. Also tested browser-based software, and both the UI and command line interface of an IRC administration tool.

ST Labs, Inc. (merged with Data Dimensions, then VeriTest), Redmond, WA 1997-1998. Software Tester. Tested educational and other software and proofread/tested browser-based training materials in Win95 and NT environments.

Edmark Corp. (now one of the Riverdeep family of brands), Redmond, WA 1992-1995. Software Quality Assurance Test Lead for over two dozen products for Macintosh, MS-DOS, and Windows 3.1/Win32 platforms. Primary function was user-oriented functionality testing. Other duties included training and supervising other testers, preparing and executing test plans and scripts, setting up new computers and configuring for compatibility testing, burning CD-ROMs and making disk sets for production, and reviewing and occasionally writing documentation. Provided seasonal technical phone support.

ButtonWare, Inc. (out of business), Bellevue, WA 1991. Software Tester. Tested several DOS products and reviewed documentation. ButtonWare's flagship product, PC-File, was a shrink-wrapped product with over 50,000 users.

Gasboy, Inc., Bothell, WA 1991. Technical Writer. Duties included writing, reviewing, and updating documentation.

LapLink, Inc. (formerly Traveling Software, Inc.), Bothell, WA 1988-1990. Software Quality Assurance Test Lead for over a dozen products for Macintosh, DOS, and Win32 platforms. Primary function was user-oriented black-box testing. Other duties included training and supervising other testers, preparing and executing test plans and scripts, and reviewing and writing documentation. Wrote a small C program to generate test data.

LapLink, Inc. (formerly Traveling Software, Inc.), Seattle, WA 1984-1986. Technical Support Lead and Software Tester. Duties included testing products before release, supporting the products after release, writing and mailing press releases, and reviewing and occasionally writing documentation.
