Nick, I don't think the sentence about women is true. I have a mate who was on the "All Arms" when the first woman passed in 2002. She took three attempts but did it in the end. I recall she was an officer but I can't remember her regiment. Julianp 00:01, 4 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

I was not aware of any females who have passed the Commando course, I will check with currently serving sources. Also if any have passed did they do it within the standard timings or were the test standards reduced. I know that some people have been awarded the Green beret having patently failed to pass the tests that go to make up the Commanando course, one HRH Prince Andrew springing to mind. So there is corruption within the system or to put it more politely exceptions are made! --Nick-in-South-Africa 16:04, 4 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

There is one woman who has a green beret, however see does not serve as a Royal Marine Commando, see

With respect to the lady, while she eventually completed the course, it's no secret she was afforded the most favourable conditions. It made a nice PC PR storey for the MOD, and all credit to her for sticking at it. CVA

Fair one, I've removed the comment about the Cdo Cse not being open to women in the light of the above. Mind you I confess to a little scepticism that she had it the same as the men.
