[edit]Shouldn't this page also talk about arcade credits? Or is that covered, but not directly addressed, in another definition on the list already? -GSGold 07:25, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)
Credits in P2P
[edit]I think there should be added the meaning of credits in P2P applications. For instance, the credits system used in eDonkey clients. --Pfc432 20:04, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

– I propose that the primary topic of the term "Credit", both by reader interest and by historical importance, is the financial concept.
In terms of pageviews, it consistently surpasses all other senses combined; the next closest sense, Course credit, gets about 2/3 as many views but is not an exact title match, and is more frequently referred to as part of a qualified phrase ("course credit", "college credit", "credit hours"), or in the plural. For the singular use of the exact word, the financial sense is the overwhelming leader. In terms of historical importance, our own article on the term states that the financial meaning was the original meaning of the term in English, extending back to the 15th century. Entire nations and economies have risen and fallen on credit. The sense in both the creative arts and in college education is a much newer phenomenon, and has had substantially less importance in the long run. bd2412 T 04:32, 16 December 2017 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Credit in finance is much more historically significant then course credit in regards to academics, and continues to be so. Move per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. CookieMonster755 𝚨-𝛀 22:02, 16 December 2017 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Just put course credit in the hatnote. Station1 (talk) 23:06, 16 December 2017 (UTC)
- Support with Station1's caveat. --Hameltion (talk, contribs) 23:11, 16 December 2017 (UTC)

- Support - makes sense. I wonder how much of the elevation in pageviews of course credit is a reflection of WP:SYSTEMICBIAS, i.e. college students read Wikipedia at a higher proportion than the general population. But no matter anyway. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 13:54, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
- Support - seems like common sense. -Zanhe (talk) 00:16, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
- Support. Most of the other entries are DICDEFs and/or relatively insignificant. — AjaxSmack 01:09, 20 December 2017 (UTC)
- Comment: At the present time, Credits redirects to Credit (creative arts). Steel1943 (talk) 03:55, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
