I guess I'm attracted to Wikipedia because I've long been a devotee of the idea that 'Information wants to be free'. Every now and again I get a bee in my bonnet about the state of the world and the decreasing value of the public intellectual commons - but then there's things like Wikipedia that shine out into the darkness like the light of a candle in the window of some distant farmhouse. Such things welcome us back to the hearth fire of humanity.
