[edit]This reader came to the American Curl article merely for information. As a non-expert, I can only comment on the clarity of the article.
It is mentioned that the origin of the breed was "the result of a spontaneous mutation.[1]" The referenced .pdf [1] requires subscription to the "Journal of Heredity" without which it cannot be viewed, leaving the visitor ultimately with no explanation.
The article mentions that "two stray kittens were found", that one ran away, leaving the sole remaining cat as the "the foundation female of the American Curl breed" but it is unclear why that is significant or how that might be different if the other cat had not ran away. There is a gap in logic here.
The subject heading "History" contains little or no history. Consider changing the heading.
