Oil industry
[edit]I believe there's no reason to chose between the people who started the oil industry and promote one over the other. If that is the need of User:Boryslaw, then perhaps we could mention all of those involved, that is Ignacy Lukasiewicz, Jan Zeh, Stanislaw Jablonowski, Piotr Mikolasch and many more. However, such a name listing could better be moved to oil industry and not here. Halibutt 02:56, Jun 12, 2005 (UTC)
- Also, what's wrong with the mention that the town was not a city (at least formally) until 1933? In most states in the area, (Galicia, Poland and even modern Ukraine) there are only two types of settlements in terms of administrative system and privileges: a city and a village. Since this is based mostly on tradition, city rights are at times held by no more than large villages that used to be mighty long time ago. Similarily, there are still huge villages that didn't get their city rights yet. That's how it works and that's how it used to work. So, in other words, if the town did not have a city charter before, then it must've been ruled in accordance with the laws concerning villages (soltys instead of a mayor, lack of city council, and so on).
